Search Engine Before we dive to SEO, you need to know the components search engines and their architecture.

Some of the following components may differ and implemented differently, but all are inherited to all search engines and SEO principles are the same.

Spider – A program that downloads browser-like Web pages. The difference is that a browser displays information in a page with text, graphics, etc, while the spider works directly with the HTML of the page.

Crawler – A program that automatically follows all links and finds in each of Web pages. This allows the spider guide where you should be evaluating the links. The crawler attempts to find documents that are not yet known to the searcher.

Indexer – a program that analyzes web pages downloaded by the crawler and spider. Analyze the different elements such as text, headers, structure, HTML tags, etc..

Database – Where to store the pages downloaded and processed. Here we keep all the pages found that have been analyzed.

Search Results – The results measured the pages. Determines which pages match the user’s request and in what order should list the pages. This is done according to assessment algorithms of search engines. This point is where we make what is called Page Rank (PR) and which will be discussed later.

Web server – is the visible Web search engine where we have a search window where visitors can specify what you want to look or what interests you. The server is responsible for displaying the results to the user in their browser.
